It activates when the Silverado 1500 comes to a complete stop, for example, at a stop light, or even when waiting at a sign. If the brake pedal is depressed, the engine will turn itself off. This way, you don’t waste fuel idling. When it’s time to rejoin traffic, all you need to do is release the brake pedal, and the engine will automatically restart itself.
