If you’re looking for an SUV that drives more like a sedan, the compact class is the perfect choice. But, because there are now more vehicles in this class than ever, it can be hard to figure out which one to get. Here we try to make this easier for you by comparing the Chevy Trax to the Buick Encore in some important areas.

Handling and Fuel Economy

The Chevy Trax is a nimble SUV that has very nice handling and maneuverability; it’s a snap getting in and out of tight parking spaces. And for its class, it offers very good gas mileage, as it will give you 26 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway. The Buick Encore isn’t as agile, and its fuel economy isn’t as good either: 25 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway.

Tech

The Chevy Trax comes with a very user-friendly infotainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen. Other standard tech features include remote keyless entry, voice command, satellite radio, and a six-speaker stereo. You will also get two USB ports, Bluetooth®, Android Auto™, Apple CarPlay®, and a Wi-Fi® hot spot. The Buick Encore has some of the same components, but critics aren’t impressed with its somewhat dated infotainment system.

Take a Test Drive of the New Chevy Trax

Facts and figures are important when evaluating a vehicle, but you can’t solely rely on those to make your choice. You need to check out a vehicle in person and get behind the wheel for a test drive.
