double cab vs. crew cabv

If you’re in the market for a pickup truck, there are a lot of decisions you will need to make with your vehicle. In addition to make and model, trim, and various packages, you also have to think about which cab is best. This guide looks at the double cab vs. crew cab so you can see what each offers to find the one that suits your needs.

Passenger Room

If the Chevy Silverado 1500 is the truck you’re after, you will have three cab configurations to choose from: regular, double, and crew. The regular cab seats three, so if you need to fit more people than that, one of the others is a better choice.

Both the double and crew cabs have room for up to six people. However, if you have some particularly tall passengers riding with you, especially if they need to sit in the back, the Crew cab is the best choice. This is because you’ll get 43.5 inches of rear legroom in the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500. The double cab offers 35 inches.

Bed Size

Another factor to think about when deciding on a cab is the bed you’ll need, as not every size comes with every cab. If you plan to do a lot of hauling of large materials, the regular cab may be your best bet, as it comes with the longest bed: 8 feet, 2 inches.

You can get a 6-foot-7-inch bed with either the double or crew cab models. And if you don’t need a huge bed, you can also get a 5-foot-10-inch box that comes with the crew cab exclusively.
