chevy oil change

Is it time for your Chevy oil change? You may not realize it, but there are many different kinds of oil you could use in your vehicle, and it is important to choose wisely. Here you’ll learn about four of the most common types so you can make a good decision:

Conventional Oil

For most vehicles, conventional oil is perfectly fine, as it offers good protection against engine wear and corrosion. Another benefit is that it is very affordable. Conventional oil is generally the recommendation for newer cars that don’t have a lot of miles.

High Mileage Oil

For vehicles that have over 75,000 miles, switching over to a high mileage oil is usually a good idea. In addition to cutting down on consumption, this oil also reduces the amount of emissions a car produces.

Full Synthetic Oil

Some vehicles – such as luxury models – require full synthetic oil. This type has a higher resistance to oxidation and provides extra lubrication. It’s also great for dealing with extreme temperatures. The downside to full synthetic oil is that it is expensive.

Synthetic Blend Oil

With a synthetic blend, you will get a mixture of both conventional and full synthetic oil. This enables you to get the benefits of both while also saving money. A synthetic blend is typically recommended for pickups and other vehicles that regular tow or haul.
